To secure IUPAP sponsorship, the organizers have provided assurance
that EP2DS-18/MSS-14 will be conducted in accordance with IUPAP
principles as stated in the ICSU-Document "Universality of Science"
(sixth edition, 1989) regarding the free circulation of scientists for
international purposes. In particular, no bona fide scientist will be
excluded from participation on the grounds of national origin,
nationality, or political considerations unrelated to science.
As of May 2009, Japan had taken measures concerning the waiver of visa requirements with 61 countries and regions. You can check if you need VISA when applying for landing permission at a port of entry in Japan at the website of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. If you need VISA, please contact your nearest Japanese diplomatic mission for particular details.

The documentation is prepared in Japanese including a detailed plan
for the entire period of your stay. The documentation will be mailed
to you provided that you have registered your profile. Unless you
completed the registration, please make it from
here.
After receiving the documentation, please bring it to the Japanese
diplomatic mission for the VISA application.
